  1. ((Hugs)) my sister said she can't be happy for us if we move but then we're the only family she is close to here and her boys would miss my boys and it's so difficult to leave them behind and I think its fine for them and us to be upset. Claire
  2. I don't post often but I do come on here daily via tapatalk and it's a much friendlier site then pio, if I have any questions then I always post here first as the replies are nice and informative
  3. We love vicar of dibley and still watch now. Claire
  4. Loved Are you being served and Allo Allo, the policeman was so funny Totally agree Ali that there isn't a lot of programmes that you can watch together as a family. Claire
  5. Oh and good luck for all of you soon moving over to perth- I'm not jealous at all lol
  6. Thank you all for your replies We have 3 boys, 6,3 and soon to be 7mth old so a handful lol. Your replies have helped put our mind at ease and try and plan the move in the next 5yrs
  7. Thanks for your replies Russ is worried that if we make it by 40 then what does he do about his pension, buying a house etc...but yup things do keep getting in the way. If we do make it to Perth, I don't want to sell our house just in case we don't enjoy Perth, so will have to save very hard.
  8. Tired to find if this has already been asked but couldn't find any but I'm sure it has been asked. How old were you when you moved to Perth? Russ is 35 and I'm 34 and were hoping to move in the next couple of years but with the boiler and other things going wrong and I won't really be earning much of a wage when I go back to work after mat leave, it has meant that saving has gone on the back burner for a bit. Also couldn't believe how much the visa fees have gone up by
  9. Thank you for all the fab replies We discussed things and totally agree that getting a loan isn't good to get out to Oz with. We will give it a few years of saving and see how we get on and wether we make it to Oz, if we don't then we still have a nice life here
  10. Wow that sounds good russ is worried about a temporary visa as they can get rid of you and have to find a job within 28 days which makes him uneasy but if they paid for his visa and relocation costs then perhaps they would eventually change his visa to a permanent visa.
  11. Thank you for your replies I'm on mat leave at the moment but will be back at work in sept but a lot of pay will go on childcare so will have to look at how realistic working in my job will be, won't know till sept, so may look at agency work as a nursing assistant. We're just annoyed that we didnt think to move before we had a mortgage and kids. Will know more come sept and will try and save lots.
  12. Russ and I would love to move to Perth with our 3 boys (6,3 and 24wk baby) but its having the money to do it. One option would be to sell the house but I don't want to because by the time fees are paid for and visas etc...there won't be a lot left and what happens if we don't like it and would want to return or we could get a loan to cover visas, airfare, rent etc...but that can be a risk. Russ would go out with a job as a nurse hopefully at a 1.9 level and I would eventually work but I'm not trained in anything. The longer we are here we are having to replace things like fridge freezer, washing machine so any money saved seems to go straight back out again, which is incredibly frustrating. Or we forget the idea of moving to Oz altogether. Please be gentle in your responses.
  13. Yes they will do. Don't think they need chest x-rays but I could be wrong. Claire
