rachell
hello! first time looking on the site, very exciting posts! today we had our EOI back and sent off our visa application. seems a very long time since we started the process - skills assessment took some time. I'm coming over with my parents (mums a nurse, main applicant and I'm 21 looking to go back to uni/college). is anyone else in/been in a similar position with regards to education? also, we are bringing over our dog. has anyone any tips/ company recommendations? any advice/general positivity welcome! thanks

SteveJ
Hi there. You are quite a bit further along than us. We are just at the IELTS stage getting ready for skills assessment. Welcome to the forum. The advice on here is amazing and I find myself religiously logging on to see what people are upto.
chazhug
can someone help me understand all the abbreviations please? im struggling to understand what they all mean. what does IELTS mean?
SteveJ
Yes sure the IELTS is International English Language Test. It is required for certain skills assessments and visa routes and can give extra points if needed for making the minimum 60.
portlaunay
Hi, welcome to PP. The standard of education here seems very high and there are some very good HEI's and specialists colleges. What is it that you want to study? rachell
yes I'm at uni studying animal biology. finished my second year and looking to possibly complete it once I get over, or do a new course on something animal related. also work as a dispenser in a pharmacy, so looking at the possibility of pharmacy technician training. so many options! verystormy
Phew. The reason i asked is that children of an applicant who are over 18 need to be in full time education to get on the visa.
