vickynmatt
Hi we will be moving to mandurah in July and are looking to go to the meadow springs area. We have 2 children one who will be in primary school and one in secondary, we were wondering if anyone has any first hand experience of meadow springs primary and/ or John Tonkin college and also what the area is like generally, we visited 2 years ago and it seemed nice but it would be good to hear from people who have lived in the area. Chardy
Our kids loved MS primary but stories of John Tonkin was a big driver for our move to Baldivis. Other than that it's a nice area, family friendly and quite laid back.
jamesw
I persnally would look at trying to get into one of the private schools rather that JTC. The primary school is fine, new and not heard of anyone who has had a bad experience so far
vickynmatt
Thanks for the feedback. We've read similar things about JTC before, our eldest son will be 16 when we arrive and he's not looking at going on to higher education, he's more looking to start a course that could lead to some kind of apprenticeship. That's why we was looking at JTC as it seems to have a good range of trade type courses. I think we'll have to wait until we arrive and then get a feel for the different schools. jamesw
You could try contacting the apprentice centre in Mandurah to see if they have a better solution. http://www.gtsw.com.au/

Give me a break!
I have no experience of John Tonkin college but just wanted to say there are two exceptionally good private schools close by. Frederick Irwin's and Mandurah Baptist .we live in Lakelands which is ajoining Meadow Springs slightly north. Meadow Springs is a lovely area. Both the private schools do have waiting lists but it's worth putting names diwen even whilst still in the UK. Good luck.
