mwjw
Ive been a self employed painter for the last 4 months and have just been told our lease runs out in 2 months and they want a decision if we want to stay or not, in the next week. We want to move as weve outgrown our current place (our 15 month old boy has too many toys and not enough room!!!) Im worried I wont get a rental as I would only been self employed for 6 months when we try again and the wife would have been casual for 12 months. Anyone have any experience of this? We don't know if its easier to stay where we are Thanks Mike

verystormy
I cant see an issue - many people arrive straight from the UK with no job at all. They will be just interested in a reference from your current place
portlaunay
The way the rental market is at the moment, they'll probably beg you to take a place on
scuffythetugboat
Agreed. 8000 empty properties means you call the shots.
Nigel Abery
If you can assure the landlord that you are able to pay the rent on time you should be fine. Some real estate agents require you to provide evidence of your income (payslips) but if you are self employed then you could just show them bank credits instead.
