CarolineD82
Hi all Im in the very early stages of applying for a PR 190 visa. Just a little confused as to whether its compulsory to validate visa once/if granted by a holiday or can it be validated at same time as the big move? Sorry if this is a stupid question- Im easily confused lol! We are a family of 4 and would rather not spend thousands on a holiday as we are saving so hard to have some savings to make the process of moving over there a little easier. poppops
As far as i am aware you have 1 year to validate and its up to you if want to do it as a holiday or as a big move. We are doing a holiday to vaildate then back out in a few months time! good luck
ali
We validated ours at the point of migrating - as long as it's before the date they give you it's fine. The addedd bonus is that some airlines with give you an extra baggage allowance for an unvalidated PR visa (not the 457 which is classed as temporary and is basically a work permit). We are coming on 176 PR visa and are validating on move date in just over 2 weeks eekkkkkkkkssssss You have a year to validate from point of issue cant either be at time of move or if you want to take a holiday, like you we didnt want to spend thousands on a validation trip. Good Luck Sarah

DyLeB
Do you know which airlines Ali? Lou Singapore Airlines will give you double baggage allowance, need to call/email after you have booked flights to confirm the extra baggage allowance. Also in your grant letter there will be information about IOM (international organization for migration), you email them the dates you are looking at and they can get you extra baggage allowance. If you open an ANZ account you can get 50kg with Emirates. Or BA it is about £32 for an extra 23kg bag.
