  1. So we have been in Perth for 6 months now with no tumble dryer and can honestly say we haven't needed one. We have an undercover area outside where we just hang everything on a clothes rack.
  2. Thanks for accepting my request to. I should be able to get to mullaloo for 18.15
  3. Tues good for me mullaloo or Joondalup but 7pm best. Are you all on Facebook if so maybe best to connect on there so we know what we all look like?
  4. Hi I'd be up for meeting to. I'm 34 with a 3 and 4 year old. We have been here 4 months and living in Currambine. I work full time so free evenings/weekends X
  5. We moved over 3 months ago and I say about £25000 in total. We original thought it would be half that but all the little things just add up! When we arrived we were paying out for so much without even realising it!
  6. My husbands a spark. We moved here 3 months ago and without his a licence he is struggling to secure work. Even though it was his trade that got us into Australia I'm the one who actually secured office based work whilst hubby is being a stay at home dad with the kids. He has applied for all sorts of jobs not even electrical based and gets no responses. Be prepared for him to be out of work for 6 months plus, it's more of a question of can you afford to live if your OH is earning nothing! He would hope to earn $25 p/h as a TA which is good enough for us to live off with the help from centrelink as well. Don't be put off though, we knew it would be tough here and still took the plunge, you only live once.
  7. Hi I live in Currambine and work in the city. The train takes around 30mins and always on time and I always get a seat. I have a smart rider and pay just under $10 a day. I did drive once and it took an hour and parking was quite expensive ($23 p/d). An uber from the city after a night out costs around $40. We love it in Currambine and it's great being within walking distance to the train station.
  8. Hi we have been here for 3 weeks and living NOR in Currambine. Both 33 with a 4 year old girl and 3 year old boy. So far so good we are loving Perth! Happy to meet new people as we have no other friends/family here. PM me to arrange a meet up.
  9. We have sold our uk house and are flying to Perth on 30/5. Our plan is to transfer just the money we need via money corp and leave the rest in the uk until after the referendum when we are hoping the exchange rate will improve. Are we right in thinking that we wouldn't pay any tax in Australia on the money we will eventually transfer across from our house sale? If the money in the UK in the coming months earns interest would it just be the interest to declare for tax purposes?
  10. We will fly on 30/5. Leaving party booked in for 21/5!!!
  11. Our 189 visa took around a year as well. We got our visa in November and put our house on the market in December and it sold straight the way but we didn't complete until last week. We fly out on 30/5.
  12. Thanks GraceGreen that's really helpful! Did you have to pay tax for any of the items you declared?
  13. Completing the Unaccompanied Personal Effects Statement for our container shipping and section 5 asks about "other goods owned by you less then 12 months old". Do people actually declare everything they have bought within the last 12 months considering we have had Christmas and birthdays plus bought other things throughout the year?!?
  14. We would be interested. Just depends when and where. We are planning on flying out in June.
  15. hi everyone we will be arriving in June and heading towards the northern suburbs. We have a 4 year old girl and 3 year old boy. Hoping I can get away with working part-time! Would love to meet up with other mums when we arrive.
