We've just submitted for our 457 and I'm the defacto applicant. We didn't have to provide supporting letters but did have to provide loads of bills with same address, any joint bills, bank statements showing proof of support (I paid into my OH's account to save for Aus), we also had to provide pics of us together as well with other people. I screenshotted a lot of joint facebook pots, things like holidays and our engagement last year and sent them off. Also had to provide joint holiday travel doucments. Hope this helps xx

Nothing for me with my 457 yet but quite a few in my group have had their 189's this morning and actually phoned to chase them up and got the grant withing an hour of making the call. Might be worth picking up the phone to them tonight xx

Are things on hold until 1st July for 189's too?!!

How long ago was that @Bristle - is it common for them to grant on a week-end? xx -
Excellent, can't wait to get out there. We will take the 457 just to get us out there and as soon as the appeal comes back then we'll submit for 189. Knowing our luck this will happen at the one time lol xx

Everyone must be lost in the big, black hole that was pre-financial year end applicants xx -
I looked at both 189 & 190 and they are both showing high percentage of the countries listed above xx
-
I've been on the PIO visa tracker to check for myself but someone told me that immigration have been told to process certain countries first - if you filter the tracker then you can see that 95% of the grants are from India, China & Pakistan - very few grants for any other country?? xx

Anyone had any good news today? -
Jeez that was fast, we submitted Thursday night, would love to get a grant that quick - Monday will do though lol xx

@Millie1978 - same scenario this morning, no grants in our group and nothing on our 457 either. It's very frustrating xx
-
WOW thats amazing well done you!! They are even dragging their heels with our appeal - currently at week 5 with that lol. Good luck with your IELTS. We've managed to get sponsorship in the meantime and submitted a week ago - fingers crossed we hear soon. I see you're in Fremantle, we're thinking of heading there, what's it like? xx

How long ago was that Joe? I'm guessing 457's are treated different than PR visa's and there is a lot of people still waiting for visa grants 15 weeks+? Susan xx
-
Just trying to bump this back to the top Has anyone had a 457 granted in the past few days - we are now at day 7?? xx
-
@Millie1978 one of the girls in my group has been super tracking the visa grants for the past few months and she said there is a trend lol Very few come through Tues, Wed & Thurs and that Mon & Fri morning is when the bulk of them come through. Fingers crossed for tomorrow morning!! xx
-
Just checked there and no one has had a grant. Some have been waiting 15 weeks for 189. Have one who is at 9 weeks for 457 but they had issues with medicals so that's held that up. I think it will take them a few days to wade through all the passes and send out the emails xx

On the facebook group I follow there are loads still waiting. Only 2 granted yesterday and so far today, not heard of anyone. Lots of disappointed faces again today xx

We went with Bupa for our cover. We are currently speaking to a lady called Edith van Dommelen of Relocate Rentals re a short term furnished property, I can give you her details. I havent used her myself yet so can't give you any feedback. xx

Moving to Perth with family. Is it too much of a risk

Not yet but hoping to be at the end of July. OH has a job lined up and managed to get 457 sponsorship. We submitted last week and have been advised a 4 week wait. Can't wait to get there. We have friends there who have been there for a year and he is busier than ever, he's a joiner to trade and is working self employed, he said it's really busy there just now. Think the mining slow down is affecting some things but general costruction work is still going on. xx -

Sorry hun, no idea how long she waited since EOI went in, all she said is she's been at this for 1.5yrs. One of the agents on the site predicts that a lot of visa's will have been stamped and they are just waiting for the 1st and they will all come flying through. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Our 457 went in Thurs - don't think we'll be so lucky on the 1st , will be a bit longer for us I think xx -
Have you got your visa yet @benj1980 as we are thinking the same to ship now but someone told us you need your visa number for the customs docs?! xx

On one of the facebook groups I follow a lady was granted her visa this morning so it's still happening. I think they were on some sort of industrial strike for the past 2 weeks which will not have helped thimgs. That ended on Friday and with the 1st being Wed, I predict good things for you all xx -
I've done the same lol xx
