  1. Thanks Cat, if it comes back in 6 days I'll be over the moon xx
  2. WOW that's a massive difference. We're hoping to submit either Fri or Monday and hoping for a quick turnaround - we're due some luck after the TRA debacle lol Thanks xx
  3. Has anyone over the past few months applied for 457? If so, how long was the processing time from submission date? Thanks
  4. Thats what I was just thinking, you pay about £2.60 in Costa/Starbucks for a latte xx
  5. Congratulations to you and your family xx
  6. I've had to delete all the groups from my facebook as I was constantly on it checking for any miniscule piece of information, I was in Oz overload and had a mini melt down last week lol Much better this week and only check this group twice a day now lol xx
  7. I think it's 60 days regardless of where you are but I couldn't be sure. Good luck xx
  8. Hi @Bemmy - we're at skills assessmenrt stage as well with TRA though they failed us and we have submitted an appeal. IELTS was done last year so this is all we are waiting on so that we can submit our visa application. Hoping to be out there, well asap, just depending on this all moving quickly Good luck with your application and IELTS xx
  9. Excellent news Good luck for the visa application xx
  10. If its TRA then you have a full 60 working days i.e 12 weeks before it comes back. As you can see from my signature they kept to that time. As far as I'm aware unless there is a job offer there that could be used to help speed it up but other than that. no. We tried and they sent us info from FAQ's in response, they just copy and pasted them lol xx
  11. I agree with you there. My OH is a great decorator, he also does estimating and supervises a team so that was a total slap in the face. Fingers crossed we get it on appeal and are not held back any longer than necessary xx
  12. It's been an absolute nightmare hun, we were told iot would be another 12 weeks before we hear back but our agent is now saying that it should be around the 6 weeks mark which is better, but has totally thrown our plans out, and my OH as lost a job already through it and may now lose out on another #frustrating xx
  13. I'm liking your style @Derbygirl42 lol You've got to be realistic but if you're not positive about it then why bother xx
  14. Thanks @Ellen Hughes & @benj1980 Spoke to our agent the other day and they are pretty confident it will be quicker than 12 weeks, more likely 6ish weeks. Fingers and toes crossed xx
  15. We use Jonathan as well through Skilling Australia and he was brilliant xx
  16. What is your trade and who is your assessing body? xx
  17. Hi, I believe that the occupation ceiling limits are not the hold it, its the over all yearly limit that has been reached. If you add all occupation limits they are way higher than the grant limit. Hope this helps xx
  18. @steven_gers Lovely to see a nice positive review on the situation in Perth. We're hoping to be out in the next few months and will be staying with friends initially and your post has certainly helped, though we are by no means coming over with rose tinted glasses xx
  19. For anyone that's interested or suffers the same fate as us, our appeal was posted on 19th May and we got an acknowledgement email today 27th May and have been advised it's another 60 working days wait - which means we're talking w.c 17th August xx
  20. As already advised you don't need them until visa application stage but here is the link that lets you see where they are based and be able to look into costs http://www.immi.gov.au/Help/Locations/Pages/United-Kingdom.aspx Susan x
  21. Thanks @verystormy & @Druid - we are currently with Overseas Migration and spoke with our agent this morning who is convinced this is has just been an inexperienced assessor and is confident this decision will be overturned on appeal. Just can't deal with another 60 working days wait as this isn't our fault and we may now have a lost a job over it as I don't see them waiting till Oct/Nov for my OH xx
  22. @Dano169 We can appeal at a cost of $900, we'll do that 1st though if it fails for same reason we may need to look at another RTO to do the AQF again. Good luck with yours xx
  23. @Dano169 my OH is a painter but didn't have his trade papers so had to do the AQF 3 to be able to submit to TRA. They said they didn't recognise the company he did it with which is clearly an error as they are an RTO. Just can't o through another 3 month wait if it takes as long as the original application. @Bestie85 not sure about the process for electricians xx
