    457 visa

Hi. We Have just got our 457 visa through. It took about a week. This is the evidence we supplied, we are both physios and my partner was the lead applicant: Passport copy Birth certificates Degree certificate Professional registration for uk and oz Cv One reference from employer Proof of address ie. Council tax letter, mortgage letter x 4 things as I was defacto Copy of blank cheque for joint account My other half most recent crb check Insurance We have gone with down under insurance £120 for 10 days travel and one cover month in Australia. Then we plan to join Medicare as soon as we get there.. Good luck xx
  3. Hi, you get an issue date and a start date. Just make sure you check the notice period required for changing the start date. Good luck!
  4. We used down under insurance to satisfy the 457 visa. Going to look further once in Oz. It only cost £120 for ten days travel and one month in country which will be plenty of time to enrol in medicare. Jo
  5. Hi Mary, I can really feel for you..I was ready to come out first week of july. I had an op to remove a plate from my arm at end of may and during the op my bone broke. I am in plaster presently and have my review on July 6th to see if plaster can come off then i face 6 weeks of rehab minimum...gutted! I wish you a speedy recovery, eat lots of protein, avoid cola and don't smoke xxx
  6. My goodness slmurphy1, our 457 visa took 10 days to come through and that time included two weekends and a bank holiday. I wish you all the best..exciting!!x
  7. Hi Angiemalc Can you tell me how much the dog bond is? We are hoping to foster a dog when we come out to Perth. We are also looking at Carine and Duncraig.. fingers crossed! Jo

  9. Today I should be feeling REALLY excited..today I received the news that we have been granted our 457 visa!! We were originally planning on leaving the uk at the begining of July giving us a month to get sorted. 2 years ago I broke my wrist badly and had 6 operations to fix it. I made the decision in may to have the last piece of metalwork removed from my wrist which should have been straight forward, but instead I got an intraoperative fracture and am back in plaster until the 6th July. Im really stressed, we can't book flights in case the consultant says it hasn't healed, we hope that we can delay the start date for my oh job and if i do get the go from the doc ahead, im worrying as I would probably need a further review. I am hoping i may be able to pay for this in Oz...I just feel crappy as I wish I hadnot asked for the plate to be taken out . sorry to be a moaning minny!! Jo
  10. thats great, thank you! will do Suzanne.
  11. Thanks Emma I initially did outpatients, then moved into inpatients (ortho mainly and respiratory) in nhs and then did some locum work in in-patients. I hope to do ortho, hydro or some outpatients..i am returning to work after 2 years off for an injury (broken wrist would you believe) so basically will work wherever anyone will employ me! Would be good to meet up once there. How long are you going to Oz for? permanantly? we are going for one year..

  21. that sounds like a good scheme.. My partner is working in private practice. I am looking at public hospitals too (but part time). I haven't quite worked out the system but I believe he should look at: http://www.health.wa.gov.au for all public jobs rather than approaching the individual hospitals. Be interested to know how he gets on..if i find anything else out I will let you know. good luck in your job hunting too!
