ali
We brought our washing machine, if I remember rightly (it was a long time ago), we were advised not to use it for about 3 days prior to shipping
Osmond8
This thread jumped out at me as i too was wondering about our rug?! Its a wool rug so would i need to dry clean it first? Hopefully someone will know the answer?!!
poxonfamily
I'm afraid I don't know about rugs but we took our washing machine to Oz with no probs at all. I think I ran it on a 95 degree cycle with some soda crystals in it for the last time a few days before shipping, then left it open to dry out properly before the removal people wrapped it - otherwise it might smell a bit by the time it has been shut for 10 weeks!! Chardy
Our washing machine was packed the morning after we last used it, 10 weeks later it was not at all smelly despite still having some English water still in it !
AndyandJo
I used my machine on the day before it was moved. Just try and drain as well as you can. Try and secure the concrete block on the top (inside) if possible. I did clean a couple of rugs but my shaggy one is huge and I didn't know where to start with that one, it was wrapped and shipped and got through customs okay. The only thing they unwrapped was the Christmas Decs. I shipped wooden furniture, garden tools, wellies, carpet cleaner and they weren't looked at. andyplasterer
we were advised by shipping agent to run the machine on a hot wash with zoflora in it so the tube smells of disinfectant on arrival. that's what I did , it hasn't arrived so hoping all will be ok
Harry Paul
We brought our clothes washer, on the off chance that I recall rightly (it was quite a while prior), we were prompted not to utilize it for around 4 days before delivery
