benj1980
This is exciting for me to write this as a couple of years ago I wasn't sure if it would happen! Anyway here goes... Flight was good with Singapore, we got our extra allowance at Heathrow by showing our visas which we had printed off. Flights were as good as they are going to be with a 2 year old climber, our stopover was reduced to about an hour due to a slight delay leaving Heathrow however the kiddies all slept for the entire second flight. Customs was fine, no dramas! A best mate of mine picked us up and took us down to Mandurah. We've been over before so we knew this is where we want to settle. The week has been a series of admin tasks and appointments. Medicare, ambulance cover, centrelinks, bank etc. However there have been a few highlights, children started school after 4 days believed to be a record! Bought a car and have found a rental house! I have some relief worked lined up next week and the weather has been generally good! Children are settling in nicely into their school which is half the battle. Although it still seems one big holiday, we've purposely tried to cram as much of the admin in and normalise the situation to the children. I'm sure come the summer holiday's we'll all be completely exhausted! A few things that I had forgot and have now witnessed again. Speed limits seem slow, petrol prices vary by the day you buy it, I've met loads of friendly people and for every type of ID you need separate photos! So far so good, long may the positivity continue!
Takeme2Oz
That's fantastic that you are settling in well, hope it wasn't too hard to find supply work? Selina

After four years I still don't think I'm out of holiday mode. Enjoy it and the best of luck to you.

benj1980
Cheers everyone very much a roller coaster at the moment, but thing are moving on well. The rental is a private rental, but having spoken to letting agents they were expecting home references from the uk and money up front. As much info as possible is preferred. Hi @JenPen, We paid 3 mths rent up front and provided a letter from my UK landlord, that we were not nutters. Was simple really. xx
