Steely 11 Report post Posted May 9, 2016 Hi, I'm sure this has been asked before, but we arrive in Perth on 2nd June, and will need private health cover to include dental treatment. I'm 58, my missus is 52, anyone have any preferences on provider please?
verystormy 85 Report post Posted May 9, 2016 There is a lot of similarity between them - what one offers x, the other offers Y. It will depend on things like if you think there is a chance of needing major dental any time soon - that is pretty everything above a filling. Medibank do a fairly affordable scheme if you are not taking hospital cover. It includes 2 totally free check ups per year.

We went with HBF as it seems to cover all we'll need, private hosp room, dental. They do a plan for seniors, we pay about $ 240 monthly to cover me and wifey. If you need plan details let me know and you can look up, PRIME, i think. You will need to get medicare card sorted first. Let me know u need anything, just been here 6 mths now. Rossmoyne 98 Report post Posted May 16, 2016 Steely have a look at iSelect.com.au. They look at all private health insurance providers throughout Australia and do comparisons on what sort of cover you are looking for. Personally I have been insured with HIF of WA for the past 25 years, and recently used iSelect to look for better cover for my dollars. It seems that I have the best cover possible in the whole of Australia for what I need with HIF of WA. Not saying this is the best insurer at all, but it is the best for me. But have a look at iSelect maybe?

Ktee 11 Report post Posted May 17, 2016 I have been with Bupa for the last 5 years, have definitely had my monies worth. Remember though they only cover you for inpatient so if you have to see a specialist it will cost you around $165 but Medicare may pay you a percentage of that back. My daughter and her husband are with BUPA and are very happy with them.... me and my male heir have stayed with HIF of WA and they are covering just about everything of my impending surgery, so happy about that.
