  1. My understanding is, as rego has lapsed, you have to start application from scratch, and fulfil all the criteria.. including degree etc, I've seen a few posts on other forums stating just this, and now being unable to re-register due to revised criteria. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Two of us, thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Good to hear, it's such a relief when you find the school and area to suit you, best of luck with your next decision! [emoji2]
  4. Advice on driving there, is there parking? Or nearest station?
  5. I agree with all of the above, but sadly every member of staff, pupil etc etc is a reflection of the school, my communication was via email, and it was so dismissive and condescending, it put me off totally!
  6. Love this thread, my curly hair is now too long and scraped back with a clip,, need to find someone who can deal with it!
  7. We had the same experience with Rossmoyne, so decided not to bother with them at all! With 2 children from all selective grammar schools in the UK, reckon it's their loss! Willetton on the other hand were excellent, very welcoming, happy to show us round, before we were even close to being in area! And maybe that's why Willetton has just overtaken Roasmoyne in the latest league tables! Only one week in, so early days, but our children are settling well,, and feel very well supported in such a new and different environment.
  8. We would like to attend, work permitting 2 adults and 2 children 14 and 12.
  9. Hi all, we've only been here just over a week, but already my 12 and 14 yr olds are homesick, would love details of meet ups, when there available.
  10. Just been going through an 'are we doing the right thing' moment, as we fly out next month! This has made me feel so much better! Thanks y'all x
  11. Things you forget to think about! Came here looking for exactly this info, thanks very much.
  12. Ok, 2 months to go, travelling with 14yr old daughter and 12 yr old son, our daughter is very outgoing, and loves socialising, son rugby mad, plays for local club and school! Both currently at selective grammar schools in the UK, doing really well! Would love to move into Perth's exclusive school zones, but doing that will just cripple us financially, hardly the point in moving! So.... are we correct in thinking Bunbury Senior High School is a good option for them both? Seems to have good reputation. Would love to hear any comments on this, and what Bunbury is like for children their age?
  13. First off, don't worry about listening or speaking, they're easy for native speakers. Focus on the reading and writing, they can be more tricky. This is the book I used! Found it really useful together with the 30 hrs free tuition from the British Council! Good luck.
  14. This is relatively new Claire, and there is at least one post on PIO stating his diploma was assessed as level 5, and he had been refused, I'll try and find it again and send you the link!
  15. That's good! I just don't want anyone going in blind, and I wish 'I knew then, what I know now!! We won't let AHPRA spoil our dream either, we have PR visas, and will be moving over in November, if I have to be a dog walker, so be it, but such a sad waste of experience for so many nurses! You go girl!!
  16. Hi Claire, take a look at the thread 'what's happening at APHRA' (yes spelt wrong) on PIO forum, you may get a better picture!
  17. I hate to burst your bubble, but 1) some diploma nurses have been outright refused, and not offered bridging programme. 2) experience counts for NOTHING with AHPRA, it's all about your initial qualification. Check the AHPRA threads on PIO.
  18. Yes there are certainly quite a few of us! I have been a mentor to more than 20 students, both degree and diploma, but not good enough to work as an RN in Oz it would seem! Best wishes.
  19. Congratulations, can I ask as you've probably read of all the problems with AHPRA, are you diploma or degree qualified? I think from reading an earlier post you are degree, is that right? It's taken a long time all the same for a degree nurse!
  20. Bridging courses are being offered to some diploma nurses to allow them to register with AHPRA, if you look at 'what's happening at APHRA!' (Yes, spelt wrong!) on PIO forum, you may get more of a clue about what's going on, and it's pretty awful!
  21. Hi there, You have to complete ielts before applying to ANMAC, it will be dated and has to be sent directly from the test centre to ANMAC, I don't think they'd be impressed if you falsely claim doing it, and achieving the grades required, before you've actually taken it. Also, it's not quite as straightforward as you may think, I did loads of prep, and even took a week off to study the format before I took it, and thankfully passed! But one nurse I met at the test, was on her 3rd attempt! And many on this forum have to resit! So to assume you're going to succeed is a little premature. And just to check, you are doing the academic test? As ANMAC will not accept the general. Good luck.
  22. Hi Emma, If you check on a thread 'what's happening with AHPRA' on the PIO forum, you will see you are certainly not alone! Best wishes.
  23. Hi there, It all still applies, you need a 7 or above in each section on the academic test for ANMAC, but if you want 8s for immigration, you can go back and sit the general test. Prepare well for it, and with any luck you might get 8s first time round. Thankfully I only needed to sit the academic test, but I really did a lot of prep, it's not difficult, it's really just learning what is required! And practising, there's loads of material on line. Good luck!
  24. Moving out in November with hubby and 2 children 12 yr old boy, and 13 yr old daughter! Will be looking to say hello to new people, and for some company for the children.
