Katarina
Hi, I gave up smoking and now use an e cigarette with nicotine vapour. Stupidly I assumed you could buy these here as there so popular in the Uk. Apparently the liquid with nicotine is illegal to sell here and I've nearly ran out! I have some one bringing some over in March but was wondering if anyone could help me with in my search! It's not illegal to use by the way so it's not dodgy:notworthy: Any ideas ? Daveakaginge
With respect, 'smoking e cigarette's' is not giving up! Take this opportunity, and go the whole hog....quit. I did four years ago, you know it makes sense.
Katarina
With respect, I wasn't after the " you know it makes sense" lecture thanks.
Sideshowdeb
If you've given up smoking and just need nicotine replacement then I'd suggest you try a Nicorette Inhalator. They are available in chemists the same as they are here.

As an exsmoker too, I can only say that 'cold turkey' was the best way for me personally, no amount of patches etc worked, I still relented, I did find pretending to smoke a straw helped...I looked like a complete twonk but it did work.....7 years nico free...best thing I ever did....now I just have to learn to stop eating! best of luck in trying to give up! To be honest I hardly use my vapour cig but it's there if I need it and especially as we're doing a lot of drinking/socialising at the moment when my resolve weakens, it comes in handy! I won't go back to smokes, I think the e cig has been my safety net the past few months. Ah and the eating thing I totally get..

Kck74
Right, a lil' help here is needed I think...... It's not not illegal to vape in Oz, just selling the stuff. We're coming over next year and were concerned about this. You can order from foreign vendors and have it imported no problems We have have been vaping for about 5 years now and have no intentions on giving up. Mr misery guts from post #2 should realise that you smoke because of the addiction to nicotine which is non-harmful and not the tobacco which is!! Regards Kev
dxboz
I got given one of these a couple of weeks ago by a friend who is so passionate about them and wants to help others to stop smoking so he has loads which he gives away to friends. He orders them from China I think and the liquid from UK

Regards Kev My impression is that, strictly speaking, it is illegal to import e-cigs into Australia unless you hold a license to do so. The TGA aren't satisfied with the safety and efficacy aspects of them and won't license the product in Oz until there is more research available. Practically speaking, I'm sure they wouldn't actually give a hoot who does what for personal use. (Don't shoot me down as a party pooper, just sharing my knowledge which may or may not be correct ) As an ex-smoker, I found that pregnancy was the best way to quit. Obviously this can't be prescribed to everyone, and it does have certain very long term, sometimes severe, side effects, but worked wonders for me! flatpack
I've now been "clean" for 8 years and it's the best thing I ever did, cold turkey was the way to go. I'm very head strong, OH says stubborn, so once I'd made my mind up that was that! I'm one of the worse ex-smokers now though, cannot stand the smell at all. Good luck with your quest for e cigs and I look forward to the day that you post that you too are a true ex smoker!
Nancy
I've been off now for a few weeks and use nicorette lozenges...only have a few a day but takes away any craving for a ciggy.
