I am with you odies, I enjoy living where I am, I don't look down on people for where they live, don't know why so many people make others feel inferior because of where they live, we all choose areas that suit our families and lifestyle.

There a pool cleaners that come round to the house to clean the pool for you but that's added costs, not sure what it costs.

One Year, what a great achievement congratulations. It has been a pleasure watching and hearing all this take place and knowing you had a great attitude from the beginning in realizing your dreams and wanting to call oz home. You are an inspiration to others. Can't wait to catch up again soon.

You maybe able to live in a caravan in the country but councils would not allow it otherwise, you can get an owner builders licence to do it yourself or with contractors but you do have to do a owner builders course. Some areas also say the house must be completed in a certain amount of time, also when we bought our land we had to start building within 2 years.

Keefo I cannot believe it is 6 months for you already, time does fly. I know what it is like to be homesick and missing family and it can be very hard to overcome, it does depend on what is important to you and your immediate family. It does get very cold here especially at night & early mornings. We have ducted heating and electric blankets at night, only had the heating on the other night for the first time this year, we are near the coast and the wind coming off the sea is really cold, so we think twice about taking the dogs for a walk otherwise we rug up like we would in England..

Everyone just about goes in with a less offer than the advertised price.

Chopchop not sure if that will even buy you a tent, where are you planning on staying north or south, you can't just camp anywhere, there are fees for staying at a proper camping site with facilities. Then food on top of that, ok noodles $1.00 but you have to boil water. If you are north maybe come over to ours for a meal.

I know a few times on return to oz they ask if you have been on a farm recently and if yes they take your shoes away must spray them and then give them back, they been doing this for years that I know of.
