  1. hi sorry to here your haven troubles but unfortunately this is the same for many professions, i work in the construction industry and electricians, plumbers, plasterers etc have to retrain in order to continue there trades in wa even tho there on the skills list, i think your best course of action is the experience you have in your industry and maybe an Australian recognised qualification which i have seen can be done online before you go, maybe this could help,
  2. A white card is basicly a cscs card its basic health and safety like in the uk.
  3. just a quick one how long have you been a social worker and do you have a ba degree
  4. I have heard the same i think your charged a flat rate then at the end of the tax year you submit your expenses etc and you get a rebate, my sister who has been in Perth for 17 years now gets on average upto 9000 dollars a year rebate so it sounds good to me.lol
  5. Are you newly qualified. If you are i think you need 3 years post qualified experience. It was the same when my wife tryed but that was for social work but sounds like the same rule, luckily i found out before i left, hope it works out for you good luck
  6. Sponsorship jobs are few and far between but i wish you all the luck world.
  7. White card is basically the same as a cscs card.
  8. hi kaz , the chance is slim to nothing to be blunt the plastering in wa is completely different to here in the UK its like starting from square one again most guys who go over have to labour for months before hitting the towel, just do a search on here there are plenty of posts about it.
  9. Don't no if you have looked into this very much as it doesn't sound like it. To work as an electrician in oz you will have to retrain you might get some work as a electricians mate while you train but training can be upto a year at collage this can be done at night school but its expensive so check it out.also to work as a social worker you need 3 years post qualified experience because the English degree is only 3 years and the Australian degree is 4 years so you won't get any work as a social worker unless you do the 4th year at university in Australia which the last time i checked was 20,000 dollars. I don't mean to burst your bubble but my wife and i have been thought the same thing. If you are unsure of any thing i have said p m me and i can give you all the info i no.
