  1. We applied 15.4 and got CO 3.6
  2. In terms of timescale, I started the process around the 27th December (when I had 3 months post qualifying experience). It is now almost 5 months later and I am waiting for a visa grant (37 days into the wait). So I think it is achievable within 6 months but I was super organised and knew the process inside out before I started. I also did IELTS in September once I had a few minutes spare after finishing uni.
  3. I just sent passport after querying it on their Twitter page. We confirm the rest on arrival.
  4. Depending on its price range, would first time buyers be interested? It's rare in the UK but when I bought my first house things that tempted me was things such as a lump sum on transfer of deeds, brand new white goods included in sale, 5% deposit paid, offer to cover solicitor costs. First time buyers have it tough so offers like these may tempt more people to view. More people who view = more chance of a sale. And money always make people see things in a more positive light.
  5. I think this is the sort of advice that you should be seeking from a migration agent, far too much at stake for a forum.
  6. I am looking forward to living in a larger house eventually where I cant hear children's voices in every room (we downsized to save for Oz and feel cramped)... But seriously, this weekend each morning the sky looked blue so we got up and got ready to go out. By lunch it was cold, grey and wet. Today we took the day off work with the littlest and it looked sunny again. We got up, got dressed walked out the house and between the wind and the chill we were freezing and too uncomfortable to do anything. It feels so wintery my littlest wanted to come home and watch the Polar Express. I still cant feel my eyeballs. It makes me unable to go out, apart from work.
  7. Sorry to sound negative but as far as I am aware you cannot apply for a 189 if you are on the CSOL list. Maybe others could comment to confirm/disagree??
  8. We are currently working all hours possible trying to do as much overtime as possible, yet on top of the visa costs we had a huge MOT bill this month, a bump with another car and a broken washing machine that needed replacing. It's like the more we earn in overtime the more we pay out! It's frustrating. I need to have the visa money by April and there are only so many 53 hour weeks I can have in the line of work I am in, before collapsing!
  9. LoopyLauren, I am in Notts and so its only a quick train ride away!
  10. Yes I paid £65 for an unlimited amount of documents at the magistrates court. They do it day in day out. I also paid a solicitor £5 per document if I had things I had forgotten.
  11. Loopylauren, I have had mine assessed to see if all docs are present and they are. I only attached my IELTS certificate. No evidence about schooling. Despite having 5 years high school, 2 years of sixth form, and 5 years in total of univesity level edcucation . It states somewhere in the description if you dont have transcripts you can use IELTS
  12. Brilliant, my case officer passed it to the registration officer last year and the registration officer confirmed he had everything and my file had progressed on the 4th :-) Really hope it is as quickly as you from that point.
  13. You can use IELTS to bypass the 5 years education.
  14. Congratualtions Charlene! Can I ask you a Q? I heard from the initial guy who does a quick check at AHPRA in December and then my application and supporting docs are now with a senior registration processor. Did you go through a similar process and do you know how long you waited after it went to the registration officer?
  15. One bottle of wine approx once every 2 months at present but I do enjoy it more in Summer and would perhaps share a bottle each Friday with my husband. I can get a hangover from anything more than 2 glasses of wine! I do think Australia will increase my consumption... On a summer holiday we can go through a few bottles a day on a really bad day!
  16. Loopy Lauren for the English Language section IELTS certificate certified will do! I didn't submit any statement of work history. I did a statement of entry from NMC which I got certified and sent directly myself? But I wasnt claiming for work experience or anything so I didnt focus on that.
  17. Loopy Lauren, I believe it is May time. I was more concerned after the changes AHPRA have been making recently and the timescales some people faced that I felt it was worth the cost to ensure I had AHPRA early. It also means I can apply for jobs with a chance of being offered a permanent position. You don't pay the full $500 (approx cost) but only around $220. I think there is an application fee and a registration fee. You only pay the registration fee.
  18. Hi Ashlene, I am flying 16th September but initially into Brisbane as we want to spend 4 weeks holidaying in the Sunshine Coast before starting the stressful process of settling down. We are looking at both QLD and WA and will decide based on jobs and locations. My document arrived yesterday with AHPRA so I am now holding my fingers crossed tightly. I may have mentioned before but I found the advice on youtube far better than the books you can buy for IELTS. They do take a bit of testing as some video's are there to teach you how to score above 5 for example but I learnt a lot of tricks I would not have been able to do had I not known. I got above 8s the first time round and I am not academic! I hated english at school! Give me a maths test anyday!
  19. Hi girls, just wondering how you are all getting on in the process. I was once in touch with a lovely lady from Hollywood who was interested in speaking to me once I qualified but she left and since then I haven't heard much back. I emailed the hospital yesterday with my CV and it has been passed to the ward managers so fingers crossed something positive may come. I spoke to a lady from the Ramsey Hospital at Joondalup a few months ago who was incredibly friendly and hopeful, however it appeared like a job offer could only be considered once I was in Perth. As we are flying into Brisbane initially we would require a permanent position to relocate to Perth.
  20. I remember Tanya and Jordan from the last series, such a lovely family. They both deserve all the happiness in the world...
  21. Congratulations Ashlene! I am waiting for one last document to arrive in Australia (initial checks didn't state this document was missing). I posted it on the 12th January so I am hoping it has arrived but Australia Post tracking never seems to update. Registration officer has offered to expedite the process once he gets that document however, what exactly that means I dont know. I just cant wait to be in the same position as you, able to apply for jobs!
  22. I have a similar dilemma with my cat who is the most loving, well behaved cat I have ever met. He is so cuddly yet independent. My husband and I both grew up with many cats but we really feel our current cat is something different. It breaks my heart to consider leaving him behind but we will struggle financially at first and will have little option of rentals. Our neighbours also love him to pieces as he often nips into all their houses to spend time with them, playing with their toddlers and having a cuddle. The thought of leaving him makes me feel sick, yet It's the pressure of the unknown quality of life he would have if we took him with us. Our savings would be gone and he would be unhappy. Where we currently live there is barely any traffic, a huge grassed area in front of the house that he has to himself to play in each day. He known his location, his surroundings, the wildlife. And recently, two of our neighbours have asked if they could adopt him when we leave. It's such a hard answer to give them, by taking him with us there appears more negatives than positives yet leaving him will break our hearts. I hope you manage to make a decision soon x
  23. Our holiday will be the 4 weeks initial arrival accommodation in Caloundra in September!
