  1. This is will happen,it always does. We have taken a dip in our original asking price, but we have walked away with more equity than we put in 3 years ago. So we have lived in a nice Grade II barn conversion for a while, something I always wanted. The housing market in the UK has stabilised and the same, if not a drop, will happen in OZ. It's currently unsustainable the way it's growing. Developers need to fill these houses and always remember to take with a large pinch of salt, what an agent/estate agent values your home at! It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
  2. I completely agree with this Keefo:laugh:
  3. A franchise, is a business model to make people think they are running their own business, when in fact they are still working (usually much harder and longer hours) for someone further up the food chain. Franchises are and can be very successful, but anyone who thinks that it is an easy way into running your own business would be a fool, easily parted with sometimes a lot of cash.
  4. Will a kingsize double bed (stripped down) and mattress fit in a large movecube?
  5. Great idea Is there anything on amazon
  6. Hello, We are hopefully popping over to Mandurah for a couple of weeks at the end November. It looks like we will be heading there more permanently when visas come through. So we really want to have a good look around and get a feel for the area. We stopped in a house in Hilary's last year, this time we would like to try a really nice hotel/B&B. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay? Central, beach etc cheers
  7. Good luck Dan wine sorts most things:wink:
  8. Well, last night we had our stag and hen nights (getting married in Nov) we both had a great night out with some really really good friends. Drank too much and told my best man that I was having doubts about leaving the UK. I have a good job,we have a great life here. No money worries and we are settled. We have a lovely son and great friends. My best man and me are very close and we share a lot. His reply......Calvin you have a beautiful future wife, who has given you the son you have always wanted. You live once, take you family to OZ enjoy your new life and never have any regrets. Sort of summed up all I need in life,is my lot and a chance to one day see my boy happy in OZ.
  9. I've had 3 dvt's,nothing they can do and no "cure" I am on warfarin for life now,no problem, just have to pop to the docs every couple of months to have my INR checked that it's at the correct level. They adjust dosage if necessary. This treatment will have to carry on in OZ (at a cost I presume!). Do I need a letter from my GP when we go for medical,or we tell them when we are there? Cheers
  10. I will happily look after your cellar and make sure it runs a +10c constantly, when you get your pub running:cute:

  13. Treat a woman like your first motorbike, gingerly and carefully to start with.......then ride it like you stole it:wink:
  14. Well done Rob and family Although, you really need to be there a bit longer as you don't sound resentful, bitter or miserable enough yet.....

We just tie a bit of bungee cord to ours.
  17. All good advice. But all pretty obvious really. Domestic and alcohol abuse happens everywhere.... Losing any close loved one or friend is never good. If you live next door to each other, does that make it better/easier? Some on here do tend to talk/write to people looking to emigrate as if they are 12 years old. And then hide under the pre-text of only offering advice or the you don't know unless you have done it syndrome. News flash.......it will make a nice hole in £20k for most families to even get to OZ,we are adults. Mainly skilled or profesional people, some run a business. So in short, most know the risks, they have done some homework, and want a bit of advice now and again. Lighten up a bit people. The worse that can happen is you spend a load of cash chasing a dream...if it works out great,if it doesn't nobody died! We would return "home" skint. But at least we had a go!
