I got told by my Mum on Sunday that her friend who has been in Rockingham for the last 40/50 years told her via skype to tell me not to bother coming over to OZ as it's too expensive & the country is going downhill.

I just smiled & didn't really enter the discussion as I could of gone into the facts that England is now expensive & has already gone downhill.

The thing is when I've spoken to the lady in Rockingham on skype she says how much better it is compared to England as they have been back to UK a number of times for different reasons so they can see how it's gone.

Right now I am back in my room on Port Haven camp after spending a day building roads for the South Hedland redevelopment scheme. It's,been 30 here today so not too shabby for mid-winter! I am looking forward to jumping on the plane next Tuesday night and, flying back home to my wife and 3 girls for 6 days leave.

My son's was this week. We celebrated by having our first public BBQ in the park next to the beach. A special day to remember. Wonderful and bazaar at the same time.

Brought everything I could think we would need with us. Only once we were finished did we wonder how we were meant to clean it, marinade baked on, nightmare. Keen to leave it as we found it, the OH used his initiative by scrubbing it with a tea towel and car windscreen wash found in the back of our car! Lessons learnt, silicon liners bought.
