WILKCAR
Hi Everyone From what i can see all ready this forum is the place to get the advice and the information needed.... We are a couple looking at moving to Perth within the next 3 years, we have friends in Perth (well will have when she moves back), who will be based on Margret River. We are planning a reccie in July August (i know it wont be sunny and will rain but school holidays and fines needs must)..... we are staying in Jindalee and will be traveling around exploring and looking forward to the time before moving on to Sydney for the 3rd part of our trip. Our children are currently 6, girl and 4, boy. We are still in the very early stages as looking at moving in the form of looking into visa's and the process and saving some more pennies to help fund the move. Myself i am and Health Informatics Performance Analyst and am aware that i need to do a skills test and wondered if anyone have done one in the UK and when would you look at doing one now or wait nearer the time? ( i would be applying for a skilled visa) My wife is a home maker working part time in retail but is also a qualified nursery nurse. One of our children is adopted has anyone had to complete the visa for children adopted please? We would like to bring our 2 dalmations with us and wondered what vaccinations they would require please? Is there a friendly LGBT culture and places to meet with like minded people and families well that it basically in a nut shell if anyone can think of anything to do in Perth's winter would also be helpful please thank you in advance xxx :-)
verystormy
Hi and welcome to the forum. The fist thing to look at is visas and eligibility. I haven't come across your occupation before and don't remember seeing it on one of the lists. However, occupations can have different titles. Have you found it on one of the lists? If not, it may be wise to speak to a migration agent to see if it is there under a different name. There are two lists to look at. These are the SOL and the CSOL. They can be found at border.gov.au It really is the first step as not everyone is able to get a visa as not every occupation is eligible. If it is eligible, then I would look at doing the application asap. Skilled visas take about 9 months to get and once granted all parties must make a first entry to Australia within 12 months of medical or police check, which ever is sooner. Therefore you "might" be able to get it before your trip. In any event, it is always wise to apply as soon as possible as lists change regularly and occupations can be removed. Anchild being adopted should not be any problem. Shipping dogs, I always advice to use a specialist pet shipper such as Pet Air. Be aware this is an expensive process. It will be a fair few thousand and has the complication that WA no longer has a quarantine centre so they will be quarantined in Sydney and then have to be collected or transported to WA. rob-c
Call pet air and speak to Bob. You will need to start well before travel, from memory you need a clear rabies test months before travel Quarentine when we did it was 30 days in Byford, this has now closed so quarentine is now Sydney then flight to Perth but it has now dropped to 10 days ish I think
